Southern Hills lands 2030 PGA Championship

Club in Tulsa, Okla., has played host to 7 majors, with the most recent being the 2007 PGA won by Tiger Woods

Announced: By the PGA of America, that the 2030 PGA Championship will be played at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla., officials said Tuesday in a news release. It will be the club’s fifth PGA Championship. Next year, the club is scheduled to host the Senior PGA, on May 27-30. Southern Hills, a 1936 Perry Maxwell design, has played host to seven major championships: 1958 U.S. Open (won by Tommy Bolt), 1970 PGA (Dave Stockton), 1977 U.S. Open (Hubert Green), 1982 PGA (Raymond Floyd), 1994 PGA (Nick Price), 2001 U.S. Open (Retief Goosen) and 2007 PGA (Tiger Woods) . This year’s PGA, which was postponed from its original slot this week when the PGA Tour schedule was reworked because of the coronavirus pandemic, was rescheduled for Aug. 6-9 at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.
