Golf news: Symetra Tour cancels 2 more tournaments because of coronavirus

LPGA’s developmental tour delays season restart until late July

Delayed: The Symetra Tour’s season restart, by at least two more weeks, the LPGA’s developmental tour announced Thursday. The Prasco Charity Championship in Maineville, Ohio (July 8-10), and the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic in Rochester, N.Y. (July 16-19), were canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. That leaves the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship, which is scheduled for July 24-26 in Battle Creek, Mich., as the next event on the Symetra Tour’s revised schedule. The Symetra Tour has played only one tournament this season, the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic, which Janie Jackson won on March 8.
