Announced: By the European Tour and its developmental Challenge Tour, two consecutive tournaments to be played in mid-July in Austria to initiate the game’s return to the continent, the tour said in a news release. The Austrian Open will be played July 9-12 at Diamond Country Club in Atzenbrugg, and the Euram Bank Open will be held July 15-18 at Golf Club Adamstal in Ramsau. Each of the dual-ranking events will feature a €500,000 purse (about $565,000). The European Tour previously announced its restart with the Betfred British Masters on July 22-25 at Close House Golf Club in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. That event, worth €1.25 million euros (about $1.4 million), will be the first of six tournaments to be played in the British Isles as the tour returns to a revised 2020 schedule after what will be a four-month shutdown because of the coronavirus pandemic.
