USGA turns to former U.S. Open sites as amateur hosts

Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla., will play host to the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur, and Oak Hill will be the site of the 2027 U.S. Amateur

Announced: By the U.S. Golf Association, the sites for two of its national championships this decade, according to a news release Thursday. The 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur will be played at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla., and the 2027 U.S. Amateur will be held at Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, N.Y. Both courses are former hosts of the U.S. Open. Southern Hills, which hosted the Open in 1958 (Tommy Bolt), 1977 (Hubert Green) and 2001 (Retief Goosen), will host the top female amateurs on Aug. 5-11, 2024. Oak Hill, site of Curtis Strange’s successful Open title defense in 1989, will host the top male amateurs on Aug. 9-15, 2027. Oak Hill will use its East and West courses for stroke-play qualifying before match play moves to the East Course.
