Added: By the R&A to its growing list of tournament cancellations, the British Boys, British Girls and Women’s Senior Amateur tournaments in the United Kingdom, the association announced Monday in a news release. The R&A already had canceled its premier tournament, the British Open, because of the coronavirus pandemic. Also, the R&A said the British Women’s Amateur will move to West Lancashire in England from Kilmarnock’s Barassie course in Scotland and retain its Aug. 25-29 dates. The British Amateur will be played solely at Royal Birkdale on Aug. 25-30 in Southport, England. Nearby West Lancashire had been scheduled to accommodate the early rounds of the event. The R&A also set the dates for the Curtis Cup, which had been pushed from this summer to 2021, for Sept. 3-5. The biennial matches pitting the top female amateurs from U.S. against those from Great Britain & Ireland still will be played at Conwy (Wales) Golf Club.
