Younger Koepka will get another shot at PGA Tour's Travelers Championship
Granted: By the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship, to Chase Koepka, a spot in the 2021 tournament, officials announced. Koepka, the younger brother of four-time major champion Brooks Koepka, earned a start in last week’s event via Monday qualifying. However, he and his brother were among a handful of withdrawals before play began Thursday as a precaution for fear of having been exposed to coronavirus. The Koepka brothers and Graeme McDowell played a practice round at TPC River Highlands. When the caddies for the elder Koepka and McDowell tested positive for COVID-19, the players withdrew from the tournament. Nathan Grube, the Travelers’ tournament director, confirmed that Chase Koepka, 26, will be allowed to play in next year’s event. The younger Koepka played on Europe’s Challenge Tour last season and holds status on the Korn Ferry Tour this year. “It makes me feel so great that they saw what I did,” he told Cameron Morfit in a report on PGATour.com. “Hopefully, I don’t need the start and can find a way to earn my PGA Tour card for next year.”
