Korn Ferry Tour releases 23-event schedule for 2021

Season begins in February in Florida and concludes with the 3-tournament playoffs, with 50 spots on the PGA Tour up for grabs

Released: By the Korn Ferry Tour, a 23-event schedule for 2021, the tour announced Tuesday in a news release. The season will begin with the LECOM Suncoast Classic on Feb. 18-21 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., and end with the Tour Championship on Sept. 2-5 in Newburgh, Ind. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the loss of 3½ months – 10 tournaments – of the 2020 season, the customary 25 PGA Tour exemptions were not awarded to the top finishers on the developmental tour during the past season. At the end of the Korn Ferry Tour’s 2021 regular season in mid-August, the top 25 players on the points list will be awarded promotions to the PGA Tour for the 2021-22 season. The three-tournament playoffs, which will invite the top 75 players on the KFT points list and the PGA Tour players who rank Nos. 126-200 on the FedEx Cup points list, will award 25 more cards to the PGA Tour for the next season.
