Pandemic prompts Sunshine Tour to delay 2021 start

South African tour will postpone its season start by 1 month, to March, in response to national plea to curb spread of COVID-19

Postponed: For one month, the start of the 2021 season on the Sunshine Tour, the South African tour announced Wednesday, citing the effects of the global COVID-19 pandemic. In a news release, commissioner Thomas Abt cited the tour’s responsibility in supporting South African President Cyril Ramaphosa’s request for all South Africans to help curb the spread of the virus. The planned February start of the Sunshine Tour’s schedule has been pushed back to March. The Kit Kat Group Pro-Am will be played March 5-7.
