South Korea's Si Woo Kim earned $1.206 million from the $6.7 million purse for winning the PGA Tour's The American Express on Sunday in La Quinta, Calif.

Kim birdied two of his final three holes at PGA West's Stadium Course to shoot 8-under 64 for a 23-under 265. He edged American Patrick Cantlay by one stroke on the first stop of the five-event West Coast Swing. It was the third career title for the 25-year-old Kim and his first in 3½ years.
