European Tour postpones Oman Open

Officials cite ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in postponing indefinitely 1st 2021 event on a major professional tour

Postponed: By the European Tour, the Oman Open, after the Omani government ordered that all public gatherings and sporting events not be held because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament had been scheduled for March 4-7 at Al Mouj Golf in Muscat. It is the first 2021 tournament on a major professional golf tour to be canceled because of the pandemic. Tour officials hope to reschedule the Oman Open, which debuted in 2018 on the southeastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, later in the season. The Oman Open would have been the fifth tournament on the European Tour's 2021 schedule and was to have been played opposite the Arnold Palmer Invitational on the PGA Tour.
