Paula Creamer accepts U.S. Women’s Open exemption

10-time LPGA champion, who won 2010 USWO title, grew up in Pleasanton, Calif., about 50 miles from 2021 host Olympic Club

Accepted: By Paula Creamer, an exemption into next month’s U.S. Women’s Open at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, the USGA announced Monday. Creamer, 34, won the 2010 USWO, one of her 10 victories on the LPGA. She grew up in Pleasanton, Calif., about 50 miles from Olympic Club. Creamer has not played in an LPGA event since 2019, when she missed the cut or withdrew 12 times in 22 starts, with only two top-10 results. She is ranked No. 285 in the world. Creamer is the first player since Australia’s Karrie Webb in 2019 to receive a special exemption into the USWO. The tournament will be played June 3-6 on Olympic Club’s Lake Course. The club has played host to five U.S. Opens, most recently in 2012, when Webb Simpson won.
