Tiger Woods will make his first start since last year's British Open at Riviera, playing with Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas.

Tiger Woods will play the first two rounds of the Genesis Invitational with Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas in the late/early tee time wave at Riviera Country Club.

Woods, who is making his return to competition for the first time since missing the cut in July at the British Open, will tee off Thursday at 12:04 p.m. and Friday at 7:04 a.m. Pacific time. He played the first two rounds of this tournament with McIlroy and Thomas in both 2018 and 2019 as well.

Woods, 47, is dealing with the injuries suffered to his lower right leg and foot suffered in a car crash near Riviera two years ago. He played just three official events last year and withdrew from the Hero World Challenge in December due to plantar fasciitis.

His return this week was a bit of surprise, although Woods is the tournament host and his foundation benefits from the tournament.

It will be his 15th start at the tournament, the most of any in his career that Woods has not won.
