Justin Herbert, the 25-year-old star quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers, is hooked on golf. He hosts an invitational tournament in his hometown of Eugene, Ore., every year to benefit a nonprofit called Kidsports, and with his recent California zip code, Herbert become even more passionate about the game.

Now, the former NFL AP Offensive Rookie of the Year is taking his obsession one step further by joining Team Callaway as a new golf ambassador.

Herbert will not only play Callaway equipment in his various golf appearances, but he’ll also be a part of the company’s digital content. His lineup of equipment includes the Paradym woods and irons, the Jaws Raw wedges, an Odyssey putter and Chrome Soft balls.

“Golf is a sport that’s all about precision and that’s something that resonates with me as a quarterback,” Herbert said. “That’s why I’m thrilled to team up with Callaway, a brand that understands the importance of attention to detail and the value of hard work. Whether I’m playing a round with friends or playing for my annual golf invitational, I know I can count on Callaway to provide me with the gear and support I need to succeed.”

Callaway is no stranger to working with professional athletes outside of the golf community. NBA champion Steph Curry is also a Callaway ambassador.

“We’re proud to have Justin Herbert as the newest member of the Callaway Golf team,” said Nick McInally, the Callaway VP of Global Marketing. “Not only is Justin one of the best quarterbacks in football, he’s also incredibly passionate about the game of golf and helping bring more people, especially kids, into the game. We’re thrilled to work with him on dedicated golf activations and look forward to being able to share some of the great content we have already captured in the coming months.”

One of the digital content campaigns Herbert will be a part of is Roger Steele’s "Range Talk” series, where the golf influencer conducts laid-back interviews with pro golfers and industry personalities on the driving range.
