Bryson DeChambeau Hit a Fellow Golfer With an Errant Shot at the PGA Championship, and Fans Had Jokes

You remember Bryson DeChambeau, right? You know, the former beefed-up PGA Tour player who left for LIV Golf and hasn’t really been heard from since?
Well, he has lost a bunch of weight recently and is actually playing some good golf early in Thursday’s first round of the PGA Championship at Oak Hill.
DeChambeau, winner of the 2020 U.S. Open, did hit one bad shot in his round and it ended up hitting another golfer who was just about to tee off on a different hole. Thankfully PGA professional Kenny Pigman was able to brace himself for the incoming ball and wasn’t hurt here:
Broadcast team noted that “fore” was called and that Bryson came over and made sure everyone was okay afterwards. Progress!

DeChambeau settled for a bogey on that hole and then birdied the next two holes to climb onto the first page of the leaderboard.
Golf fans had jokes about that errant shot:
Something you may see on your local muni but idk if I’ve ever seen a pro get hit by another pros shot. And of course it’s Bryson https://t.co/5ujU8GEUaX

If Bryson stayed bulked up maybe he could’ve carried it over Mr. Pigman https://t.co/MNarBwhI42
