Joel Dahmen has only won only one PGA Tour event, but he’s won over a ton of fans throughout the years with his social media presence and his recent appearance in Netflix’s Full Swing documentary series.

He’s probably going to capture even more fan attention after what he did this week at Oak Hill Country Club during the PGA Championship. Dahmen hit an errant shot during a practice round and the ball struck a fan’s leg, leaving a nice-sized welt.

Usually when a professional golfer hits a fan with a ball they’ll hand over a signed glove and say they’re sorry. But Dahmen went above and beyond. He clipped off a $100 bill and told the fella that the beers that day were on him:

 What a hero.
