Doesn't it feel like this golf season is on turbo boost? It feels like the Masters ended five days ago rather than five weeks, and now we're right back to another major this week at the PGA Championship.

The final lead-in events added a couple more storylines to the already large pile for Oak Hill: Jason Day doesn't have a winless drought on his shoulders anymore and Dustin Johnson (No. 82 in the world, uh-huh) also regained winning form again just in time for a major.

Bob Harig of course will be on his way to Oak Hill soon, and when he sizes up the contenders he's starting at the top first. Tough to argue.

PGA Championship Week is Here and the List of Contenders Starts With Jon Rahm

The list of players who have won the first two majors to start a season isn't long, but it's also not one of those where you have to go back to before metalwoods. Arnie and Jack did it, Tiger did it of course, and Jordan Spieth did it just eight years ago. By any measure—and Bob Harig lists several of themJon Rahm has a great chance of joining the list.

PGA of America Boss Wants 'Civility' Around LIV Golf But Has Interesting Way of Showing It

PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh is one of golf's powerbrokers, and when he says an interview he wants 'civility' in the game, well, he can pull the levers to try to get it. Yet in that same interview last week with the Times of London, he may not have been uncivil but he offered some views of LIV Golf that were unflattering and insight into the ongoing LIV Golf/OWGR process that could be contradictory to what's really happening. Will be interesting to see what Waugh adds in a Tuesday press conference at the PGA Championship, right after LIV Golf player ... oh, wait, there aren't any LIV Golf players on the PGA press conference schedule. Is that civil?

The U.S. Has Continuity in Ryder and Presidents Cup Captains, But Not Much of a Pipeline

Fred Couples was named as one of Zach Johnson's vice captains for this year's Ryder Cup in Rome. Sure, everyone loves Freddie. Yet when looking at the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup captain/vice captain rosters, the same names emerge with every Cup: Couples, Johnson, Stricker, Love, Furyk. Nothing against any of them. But is the U.S. developing a pipeline for leaders of Cups well down the road?

Weekly Read Fore! Things: End of an Era for Sergio Garcia, Inside Jason Day's Sunday 62

Sergio Garcia is not in the field this week at Oak Hill, which may not sound newsworthy for the world's 189th-ranked player until you realize that the last time he wasn't eligible for a major championship, Jon Rahm was four years old. Bob Harig explains more in the must-read Weekly Read Fore! Things, along with bits on Jason Day's remarkable Sunday round that ended his five-year winless skid.
