Stars of the PGA Tour and Formula 1 to Battle in Las Vegas for The Netflix Cup

Before F1 takes to the Las Vegas Strip to race, four of its drivers will pair with a PGA Tour golfer in a unique match play.

Netflix has enjoyed two breakout sports hits in recent years with its Formula 1: Drive to Survive and PGA Tour-based Full Swing documentary series.

Now the streaming service is pushing its chips to the middle, to use a Las Vegas term, by using protagonists from both series for its first foray into live sports.

The Netflix Cup will be contested Tuesday at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas, with four F1 drivers pairing with four Tour stars in a unique match play format.

In eight-hole matches, Lando Norris and Rickie Fowler will take on Carlos Sainz and Justin Thomas; and Alex Albon and Max Homa will play Pierre Gasly and Collin Morikawa. The winners of each match will advance to one final hole to determine the winner of the Netflix Cup.

Here's the newest trailer from Netflix:

The event will air at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT and its broadcast team includes Joel Dahmen, a star from the first season of Full Swing, along with former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch, comedian Bert Kreischer and host Kay Adams.
