Viktor Hovland was back on the golf course Monday, less than 24 hours after he captured his fourth career PGA Tour win at the Memorial, but it wasn’t in preparation for this week’s U.S. Open.

Hovland took on the role of caddie to help out his former Oklahoma State teammate and roommate, Zach Bauchou, as he plays in the U.S. Open final qualifying in Columbus, Ohio.

So, instead of resting up for this week’s major championship, Hovland decided to be a good friend and help out Bauchou. Luckily for Hovland, Columbus is a quick drive from Dublin, Ohio, where the Memorial took place.

Bauchou is competing in one of 10 final qualifying rounds around the country on “Golf’s Longest Day” as competitors try to secure one of the last spots for the major. Some 678 competitors are aiming to land one of 44 U.S. Open spots.

The 2023 U.S. Open begins Thursday, June 15, at Los Angeles Country Club.
