1. Corey Conners’s one-stroke victory over PGA Tour rookie Sam Stevens is his second at the event and second on the PGA Tour. K.H. Lee is the last to win his first two titles at the same tournament at the Byron Nelson Championship in 2021-22.

2. The Valero Texas Open was the last opportunity for a player to earn a spot in the Masters with a victory. Conners was already in the field via four categories, including being among the top 12 finishers at the Masters last year.

3. Brooks Koepka became the first player to win twice on the LIV Golf League in its 11th event. Koepka, a four-time major winner, also won LIV’s final stroke-play event last year in Jeddah.

4. Past Masters champions in the LIV field and their Orlando finishes: Patrick Reed (T3), Dustin Johnson (seventh), Charl Schwartzel (T16), Bubba Watson (40th),Phil Mickelson (T41), Sergio Garcia (45th).

1. Rory McIlroy will be making his 15th career Masters start this year. A win would tie him with Mark O’Meara for second in most attempts before a first Masters win. Sergio Garcia won in his 19th attempt.

2. Among the players getting in early practice at Augusta National on Sunday were Jordan Spieth, Jason Day, Billy Horschel and Tiger Woods.

3. If there are no withdrawals, the Masters field will be 88 players. Aaron Wise withdrew on Friday citing mental health issues he has chosen to address. The last chance to gain entry was via the Valero Texas Open. The Masters does not have an alternate list.
