Episode 16: Gearing up … or fearing the worst?

Co-hosts John Hawkins and Mike Purkey discuss the risks of resuming the PGA Tour season amid the coronavirus pandemic during the second week in June – and compare the Tiger Woods-Phil Mickelson match later this month to the Seminole four-ball. Will the Tour be ready in a few weeks? Purkey still has questions. Among them: “Are they going to have enough [coronavirus] tests to test properly all of the players, volunteers, officials and media? How’s that going to work?” Purk puts it to Hawk simply: “If you were a PGA Tour player and you had a wife and you had a family, would you start playing again in June, given what we know now?” Said Hawkins: “No, I wouldn’t.
