Three Masters-winning caddies: Joe LaCava (Fred Couples, 1992; Tiger Woods, 2019); Damon Green (Zach Johnson, 2007); and Ted Scott (Bubba Watson, 2012 & 2014) give insight into what those Masters victories were like and the incredible experiences they had while celebrating.

With the 2020 Masters finally around the corner, "Under the Strap" is re-airing this this special Masters edition, which was originally recorded in April. Host T.J. Auclair is joined by three Masters-winning caddies: Joe LaCava (Fred Couples, 1992; Tiger Woods, 2019); Damon Green (Zach Johnson, 2007); and Ted Scott (Bubba Watson, 2012 & 2014). All three caddies give insight into what those Masters victories were like and the incredible experiences they had while celebrating.

LaCava shares this story from 1992, in the aftermath of Fred Couples' victory:

“I remember it was a later finish back then, or it seemed like it was a later finish back then. They had the dinner and the whole nine yards. It was late at night when we finally got out of there. Similar to these guys, we keep the flag, you keep the jumpsuit, the whole nine yards. Later that night, this is ’92, so, pre-cellphone and all that, we ended up going over to the house that Fred was renting. Him and his crew were back there watching a replay of the Masters on an old VHS tape. Same thing with Damon… we had a few beers and Fred says, ‘You want to try on the green jacket?’ And I said, ‘I’d love to.’ So, I went to try it on and as I’m trying to get it around me after a few pops, I think I – I know I – ripped it. Right under the armpit. But Fred didn’t care, nobody cared, we got a little chuckle out of that and had a good time with that. We stayed there and we watched holes 12 through 15 and then Bones and I went out and had a few more beers. Nothing crazy, but it was obviously a magical moment and a lot of fun.”

Ted Scott also shares some new memories from caddying for Bubba Watson, in 2012, which Watson capped with an incredible hooked wedge shot from deep within the pines on No. 10 to win the green jacket. Scott says that memorable shot wasn't even Watson's best of the week.

"It’s not the shot on 10 (in the playoff),” Scott says. “The greatest shot I’ve ever seen in my entire life was hit on hole 11 on Friday during the 2012 Masters by my boss. To this day, I still can’t believe it’s possible, I don’t know how it’s possible, I don’t know how he did it. I’ve even taken some friends over there and said, ‘hey, look at this,’ you know? ‘Is this possible?’ And there’s no way.”
