Want to hit irons crisply? One of the most common mistakes amateurs make is attempting to hit "under" the ball. In the latest in our series from the sunny shores of Maui, Claude Brousseau says that you don't "scoop" the ball to get it airborne in many other sports, and the same is true for golf. Focus on striking the golf ball first, and let compression – and the loft of your club – do its thing.
