The Florida High School Girls Flag Football season is in full swing and we begin our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams have started off the regular season with some great individual performances.

As such, we have six athletes nominated this week for the High School On SI's Southwest Florida high school girls flag football player of the week award from February 17-22, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, March 2nd at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are the nominees:

Kylee Terry, Bonita Springs

The junior quarterback led the way in a season opening 19-0 win over Cape Coral, completing 13-of-20 passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns.

Maya Wilson, Mariner

Wilson was a menace getting after the quarterback in a 33-0 win over Island Coast, notching a game-high three sacks.

Mia Standard, Mariner

Standard led the offensive charge for the Tritons, totaling 90 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns.

Daniela Olmos, Fort Myers

Olmos, a junior defensive back, intercepted a pass in Fort Myers’ 12-7 victory over Ida Baker.

Melanie Moreno, Bishop Verot

Moreno was extremely efficient in a 26-0 win over Fort Myers Gateway, completing 5-of-7 passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns.

Lila Dinkel, Bishop Verot

The junior wide receiver was the top target and caught four passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
