Top Iowa High School Football Wide Receiver Lands Offer From Oregon

Sioux City East standout Isaiah Grant adds Big Ten, national power to his list.

One of the top Iowa high school football players in the state has landed an offer from a Big Ten Conference and national power.

Isaiah Grant, a junior at Sioux City East High School, picked up an official offer from the University of Oregon over the weekend.

Sioux City East Standout Has Several Power Conference Offers

Grant has also picked up official offers from Boston College and Oklahoma in recent weeks to go along with previous offers from Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas and Wisconsin.

During his sophomore season on the football field for the Black Raiders, Grant caught 47 passes for 734 yards, scoring eight touchdowns. He averaged 15.6 yards per catch while also handling four punt returns.

Grant saw the field during his freshman season, catching eight passes for 80 yards with a 10-yard average per catch. 

Isaiah Grant Ranked Among Top Players In State Of Iowa

According to 247Sports, Grant is the No. 3 player in Iowa high school football and the No. 38 wide receiver in the Class of 2028 overall. He is a four-star with a 90 grade, checking in at No. 4 in the 247Sports Composite rankings where he is also the 38th-ranked wide receiver and the No. 247 player overall.

Sioux City East went 9-2 in 2025, reaching the Iowa High School Athletic Association State Football quarterfinals where they fell to Waukee Northwest.

In a 28-14 playoff victory over Dallas Center-Grimes, Grant caught four passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. 

Sioux City East Returns Several Key Players, Including Isaiah Grant, Kason Clayborne, Chris Ford

Grant and the Black Raiders open the 2026 Iowa high school football season against Sioux City North this coming Friday, August 28. Sioux City East will get the opportunity to play its first five games at home inside Elwood Olsen Stadium, as they take on Norwalk, Sioux City Bishop Heelan, Sioux City West and Ankeny before a road trip to Des Moines Roosevelt on Friday, October 1.

From there, they return home to host Johnston in a key Class 5A showdown, followed by Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln and Ames to conclude the regular season.

High School On SI Iowa’s preseason Top 25 features Sioux City East ranked in the Top 10, with the Black Raiders ranked third in the Class 5A Top 10.

Grant will be joined by Kason Clayborne, Chris Ford, Amos Collins, Tanner Boonstra and a number of other key returning players. Clayborne committed to Minnesota over the offseason while Ford has done the same to South Dakota.
