LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) Rosie Napravnik won five races in a single day at Churchill Downs to take the lead in the jockeys' standings at the spring meet.
She is trying to become the first female jockey to win a riding title at the Louisville track. She has already won titles at Keeneland, Fair Grounds, Pimlico, Laurel and Delaware Park.
The 26-year-old jockey won the second, third, fourth, seventh and ninth races on Saturday to break a tie with Corey Lanerie atop the standings. Napravnik went into Sunday's card with 21 victories.
The record for most wins in a single day at Churchill is seven, shared by Pat Day and Julien Leparoux. Lanerie is one of 11 jockeys to ride six winners in one day, most recently in May 2012.
Napravnik ranks fourth nationally in purse earnings with $5,686,930.
