Ridden by Edwin Maldonado, Seeking the Sherif ran 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:15.73 and paid $3.80, $2.60 and $2.40 as the 4-5 favorite.

Midnight Transfer returned $3.40 and $3, while Castaway was another neck back in third and paid $4.40 to show.

Seeking the Sherif was claimed for $12,500 five starts ago. The victory, worth $37,800, increased his career earnings to $147,000, with six wins in eight starts.
