NEW YORK (AP) Quick Money edged Johannesburg Smile by a nose Thursday in the $80,000 allowance feature at Belmont Park.

The even-money favorite, Quick Money edged in front as the pair of 7-year-olds battled to the finish. Cornelio Velasquez was aboard for trainer Michelle Nevin in Quick Money's 12th win in 50 starts. The time was 1:16.40 for 6 1/2 furlongs on the fast track.

Quick Money paid $4.10, $2.70 and $2.50. Johannesburg Smile returned $4 and $3.20, and Dighton paid $4.50 to show.
