Shared Belief is 5-2 favorite for Pacific Classic

DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) Shared Belief was installed as the early 5-2 favorite for the $1 million Pacific Classic at Del Mar.

Defending champion Game On Dude was listed as the 3-1 second choice at the draw on Wednesday night.

Shared Belief drew the far outside post in the 11-horse field and will be ridden by Hall of Famer Mike Smith, who took off 7-year-old gelding Game On Dude to ride the 3-year-old. Game On Dude, trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert and co-owned by MLB executive Joe Torre, drew the No. 5 post for the 1 1/4-mile race.

Majestic Harbor will break from post No. 7 and is the 9-2 third choice.

Clubhouse Ride was listed at 8-1 and drew the No. 9 post, while Irish Surf drew the No. 2 hole.

The winner will earn $600,000 and a guaranteed berth in the Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita this fall.
