War Correspondent wins Monmouth Park feature

OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) War Correspondent took the lead on the far turn and drew off in the stretch to score an easy win in the $37,800 allowance feature at Monmouth Park on Saturday, beating Sharp Omar by four lengths.

Trained by Christophe Clement and ridden by Paco Lopez, the 4-year-old colt ran the mile over a firm turf course in 1:35 2/5 and returned $4, $3.80 and $2.60.

Sharp Omar paid $8.20 and $4.20 while Best Actor was a half-length back in third and returned $3 to show.
