Game On Dude to retire in Kentucky

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (AP) Three-time Santa Anita Handicap winner Game On Dude will live at Old Friends after being retired last month.

The 7-year-old gelding was trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert and co-owned by Major League Baseball executive Joe Torre.

Game On Dude won 16 of 34 career starts, including eight Grade 1 stakes, and earned just under $6.5 million. He was the only three-time winner of the Big `Cap and just the second horse to sweep California's three Grade 1 handicap races - the Big `Cap, Hollywood Gold Cup and Pacific Classic - in the same year.

Baffert says he wanted the gelding to be ''somewhere where he would be loved on,'' and Old Friends will provide a lot of interaction for Game On Dude.

Arrangements are being made for Game On Dude's flight to Kentucky from his base in California.
