NEW YORK (AP) Salutos Amigos rallied from last in the slop to win the $300,000 Fall Highweight Handicap, the Thanksgiving Day feature at Aqueduct.

The 4-year-old gelding trained by David Jacobson fanned six-wide down the stretch, kicking home strongly to beat Mewannarose by 1 3/4 lengths. It was the second stakes win for Salutos Amigos in the last three races. He captured the Bold Ruler Handicap at Belmont Park before running seventh in the Breeders' Cup Sprint at Santa Anita.

Cornelio Velasquez was aboard for a second straight Fall Highweight victory. He won with Palace last year.

The time was 1:10.78 for the six furlongs.

Salutos Amigos paid $6, $3.60 and $2.80 as the 2-1 second choice. Mewannarose returned $12.60 and $5.30 while Captain Serious paid $3.80 to show.
