ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) Serbian Syclone led all the way to win the $58,000 feature by 2 1/4 lengths Wednesday at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Elvis Trujillo, Serbian Syclone ran six furlongs in 1:09.39 and paid $5, $2.40 and $2.20 as the 3-2 second choice in the field of eight 2-year-olds.

The Gomper returned $2.20 and $2.10 as the 4-5 favorite. Every May, a 36-1 shot, was another seven lengths back in third and paid $4.60 to show.

Serbian Syclone earned his first victory by 6 1/4 lengths in November at Del Mar.

''He ran super,'' trainer Peter Miller said. ''This was an impressive way for us to end the year on a high note. He broke sharply, but he doesn't need the lead and it worked out well.''

Breaking from the far outside, Serbian Syclone made an easy lead.

''It was a perfect race,'' Trujillo said. ''This horse is training so good right now. He broke sharp, he went to the lead and I never looked back.''

Miller said Serbian Syclone would be pointed toward the Grade 2 San Vicente Stakes on Feb. 1, an early prep for the Kentucky Derby.

The victory was worth $34,800 to Serbian Syclone.
