Aqueduct cancels Thursday races due to frigid weather

NEW YORK (AP) Aqueduct has canceled its Thursday card, the second straight day of racing lost to frigid conditions in the New York area.

Temperatures were expected to reach just 21 degrees, with winds at 10 to 20 mph.

Both Aqueduct and Belmont Park remained open for simulcast wagering on out-of-state races.

The forecast is not encouraging for a return on Friday, with a 60 percent chance of snow showers in the morning.
