Storms force Gulfstream to cancel card after 5 races
HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (AP) Gulfstream Park canceled its Saturday card after five races once a wave of torrential rainstorms and thunderstorms began making their way through South Florida.
Sunday's racing card is still scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.
Gulfstream Park general manager P.J. Campo said the decision was made ''for the safety of our customers, jockeys, horsemen and employees.''
The Grade 2, $200,000 Fasig-Tipton Swale and the Grade 3, $150,000 Palm Beach were both moved to next Saturday, March 7. That card also features the Grade 2, $300,000 Gulfstream Park Handicap.
