Stormin Monarcho wins Big A's Mr. Sinatra Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) Stormin Monarcho beat stablemate Spa City Fever by 7 3/4 lengths on Saturday, giving trainer David Jacobson a 1-2 finish in the $98,000 Mr. Sinatra Stakes at Aqueduct.

A comfortable second while 6-5 favorite Celebrated Talent set the pace, Stormin Monarcho took charge at the top of the stretch and drew off to his 10th win in 32 starts. Cornelio Velasquez was aboard as the 5-year-old gelding ran the 1 1/16 miles in 1:45.99 over the fast track.

The 3-2 second choice, Stormin Monarcho paid $5.10, $2.90 and $2.10. Spa City Fever, a separate betting interest at 6-1, returned $4.50 and $3.20, and Don Dulce paid $2.90 to show.

Celebrated Talent was fourth, followed by Howl.
