Daredevil made 9-5 favorite for Wood Memorial at Big A

NEW YORK (AP) Daredevil has been made the 9-5 favorite in a field of seven for Saturday's $1 million Wood Memorial at Aqueduct Racetrack.

The 1 1/8-mile race is New York's final prep before the Kentucky Derby on May 2.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, Daredevil comes into the Wood off a second-place finish in the Swale at Gulfstream Park in his only 3-year-old start. He won the Champagne, then ran 11th in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile last year.

Frosted is the second choice at 5-2, with Jerome and Gotham winner El Kabeir next at 3-1. The post-position draw was held Wednesday.

From the rail out, the field is: Tiz Shea D, Toasting Master, Lieutenant Colonel, Frosted, El Kabeir, Daredevil and Tencendur.

The winner earns 100 Derby qualifying points, with 40 for second, 20 for third and 10 for fourth.
