Preakness odds: American Pharoah favored

American Pharoah is a heavy favorite to win the Preakness on May 16

Kentucky Derby champion American Pharoah is a 10/11 favorite to win the Preakness on May 16, according to Bovada.

American Pharoah is also 5/2 to become the first horse to win the Triple Crown since 1978.

Ridden by Victor Espinoza, American Pharoah won a dramatic Kentucky Derby last weekend, sneaking by Firing Line by a single length.

Trainer Bob Baffert said Sunday that American Pharoah will run the Preakness and may be joined by stable-mate Dortmund, who finished third at the Derby.

Last year, California Chrome won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness before losing at Belmont.
