Derby, Preakness winner gallops again; arrival in NY June 2

NEW YORK (AP) American Pharoah is scheduled to arrive at Belmont Park on Tuesday, June 2, a day earlier than originally planned.

The Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner galloped 1 3/16 miles at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, on Sunday.

Assistant Jimmy Barnes said trainer Bob Baffert is scheduled to be at Churchill Downs on Tuesday to determine the workout routine for American Pharoah.

On June 6, American Pharoah will attempt to become the 12th Triple Crown winner and first to sweep the Derby, Preakness and Belmont since Affirmed in 1978.
