OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) Stiffed unleashed a furious stretch rally and beat favored Got Lucky by a half-length in the $75,000 Monmouth Beach Stakes at Monmouth Park on Sunday.

Trained by John Mazza, Stiffed was last on the backstretch before getting in gear and covering the mile and 70 yards in 1:41 1-5. Dismissed at the betting windows, the Gabriel Saez-ridden filly returned $71.60, $21.20 and $8.40 after scoring her second straight victory.

Got Lucky paid $3.80 and $2.80, while it was nearly seven lengths back to Amblin Easy, who paid $7 to show.

''I wasn't too worried when she was a little slow coming out of the gate,'' Saez said. ''The fractions were quick up front, but we were comfortable far off the lead. That's just how she runs. She answered the call at the top of the stretch perfectly.''
