Orino wins Belmont feature

NEW YORK (AP) Orino held off English Minister by a head on Sunday to win the $77,000 allowance feature on the turf at Belmont Park.

Apprentice jockey Eric Cancel guided the 5-year-old gelding to the front-running victory. Owned and trained by H. James Bond, Orino paid $20.60, $8.80 and $6.20 for the 9-1 upset.

English Minister returned $6.10 and $4.60, and Adirondack Dancer paid $5.10 to show.

The time was 1:42.93 for 1 1/16 miles.
