Baruta wins turf feature at Santa Anita

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) Baruta won the $60,000 feature for fillies and mares by a half-length Thursday at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Flavien Prat, Baruta ran 6 1/2 furlongs on turf in 1:14.65 and paid $6, $3 and $2.20 as the 2-1 favorite in the field of seven.

Rattataptap returned $4 and $2.10, while Kool Kat was another length back in third and paid $2.80 to show.

The victory, worth $36,000, increased Brazil-bred Baruta's career earnings to $186,508, with four wins in 17 starts.
