NEW YORK (AP) Gallery held off heavily favored A Lot by a nose Sunday in the $95,000 Manila Stakes for 3-year-olds on the turf at Belmont Park.

Gallery set the pace against only three rivals, with A Lot, the 1-5 choice, tracking in second.

A Lot challenged the leader for the entire stretch run but Gallery refused to yield. The time was 1:35.35 for the mile on the firm course.

Gallery, trained by Michael Dini and ridden by Jose Lezcano, improved to 3 for 9 with his first stakes victory. He paid $12.80 and $3.20.

A Lot returned $2.10.

Croninthebarbarian was third followed by Aplomb.

There was no show wagering.
