NEW YORK (AP) Wonderment romped to a 6 3/4-length victory Sunday in the $125,000 Lynbrook Stakes, the closing day feature at Belmont Park.

New York racing shifts to Saratoga on Friday.

Wonderment improved to 2 for 2 in the getaway-day feature for New York bred 2-year-old fillies.

Javier Castellano was aboard for trainer Ken McPeak as Wonderment trounced five rivals in her stakes debut. The time was 1:11.47 for the six furlongs on a blazingly hot afternoon.

''I felt I had a lot of horse but I didn't want to use her too much today because it's so hot,'' Castellano said. ''She kicked clear very well at the top of the stretch.''

Wonderment paid $5.30, $2.80 and $2.10.

Young Anna Lee set the pace and held on to second, returning $6.10 and $2.80.

Bag of Tricks, part of an entry with fourth-place finisher Preying Mantis, paid $2.10 to show

The Lynbrook was one of two wins on the day for Castellano, the meet's leading rider for a third straight year. He edged Irad Ortiz Jr. 56-54.

Todd Pletcher was the top trainer with 43 wins. Chad Brown was second with 33.
