Long-shot Star Act rallies to win at Del Mar

DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) Long-shot Star Act rallied to beat Circling by 1 1/2 lengths Thursday in the $72,000 feature race for fillies and mares at Del Mar.

Ridden by Hall of Famer Gary Stevens and trained by Art Sherman, Star Act ran 1 3/8 miles on the infield turf course in 2:15.57. The 4-year-old filly paid $42.60, $16.60 and $8.60 for her second victory in 13 career starts.

Circling returned $4.40 and $3.80, and Kadesha paid $6.60 to show.

Halljoy, the 2-1 favorite, was fifth.
