Habitat wins Yonkers Trot, Revenge Shark takes Messenger

YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) Habitat won the $500,000 Yonkers Trot, and Revenge Shark took the $500,000 Messenger Stakes on Saturday night

Driven by Brian Sears, Habitat led wire-to-wire. The 3-year-old colt beat Hambletonion champion Pinkman by 3 1/2 lengths in Yonkers' signature trotting stakes.

The Ron Burke-trained Habitat finished the mile in 1:54:4 for his third straight victory and seventh in 14 starts this year. He returned $3.40 $2.10 and $2.10.

In the Messenger Stake for 3 year-old pacing colts and geldings, Revenge Shark edged Dude's The Man's by a nose in 1:53.1. Driven by Yannick Gingras, he returned $21.60, $6.50 and $2.90.
