NEW YORK (AP) Plainview held off Dowse's Beach by a length Wednesday in the $85,000 allowance feature for turf sprinters at Belmont Park.

Javier Castellano guided the 7-year-old gelding to the lead and Plainview dug in for his second victory in the last three starts, and 10th in 41 career races.

Trained by Greg DiPrima, Plainview ran the seven furlongs in a swift 1:20.45 over the firm course.

Plainview paid $6, $3.40 and $2.50 as the slight 2-1 second choice.

Dowse's Beach returned $3.20 and $2.40 as the 9/5 favorite. Mr. Online paid $2.40 to show.
