Rain forces Meadowlands to cancel 2 thoroughbred cards

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) The Meadowlands Racetrack has canceled its thoroughbred racing cards for Friday and Saturday because of rain.

The track said Friday it made the moves because of overnight rain and the forecast for more bad weather. All the races were to have been on grass.

The meet runs through Oct. 31, with live racing Thursday through Saturday next week.
