Speeding Comet wins Belmont Park feature

NEW YORK (AP) Speeding Comet streaked past Indian Brut to win the $77,000 allowance feature on the turf Sunday at Belmont Park.

A 4-year-old trained by John Toscano, Speeding Comet surged in deep stretch for a one-length victory, his fourth in 13 starts.

Irad Ortiz, Jr. was aboard for the seven furlongs in 1:22.80 on the firm course.

Speeding Comet paid $9, $4.10 and $2.90.

Indian Brut returned $7.80 and $5.90 while No Wunder paid $10 to show.
