Stormin Monarcho wins Belmont feature

NEW YORK (AP) Stormin Monarcho was the 14-1 winner of the $90,000 allowance feature Wednesday in the rain and wind at Belmont Park.

The longest shot in the race rallied five wide into contention and pulled away to 2 1/4 length victory over Kid Cruz.

Javier Castellano was aboard for his third win on the card. The 5-year-old gelding trained by David Jacobson got his 11th victory in 36 starts.

The time for the mile was 1:36.10 in the slop.

Stormin Monarcho paid $30, $15 and $5.90.

Kid Cruz returned $7.20 and $3.50 while Mexikoma paid $2.40 to show as the 6/5 favorite.
