Pacific Heat wins Golden State Juvenile Fillies at Del Mar

DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) Pacific Heat won the $200,000 Golden State Juvenile Fillies Stakes by 5 1/4 lengths Thursday on opening day of Del Mar's fall meet.

Ridden by Joe Talamo, Pacific Heat ran seven furlongs in 1:24.31 and paid $4.80, $3.60 and $2.60 as the 7-5 favorite.

Sambamzajammin returned $16 and $5.80 at 22-1 odds. Patriotic Diamond was another three-quarters of a length back in third and paid $2.60 to show.

Pacific Heat improved to 2-0 and has career earnings of $110,000.
